"Mika Riipi is the County Governor of the Regional Council of Lapland. He started in this position on March 1, 2013. Previously he has been the Municipality Director in Posio (2006-2013), town secretary in Haapavesi (2004-2006), and senior adviser in the Municipality department at the Ministry of the Interior (2002-2004). Mr. Riipi holds a Master´s degree in Administrative Sciences, majoring in municipality jurisdiction. He graduated from the University of Tampere in 2002. Mr. Riipi is the Chair of the FEM Steering Committee"

"Mr. Jokela has over 30 years of international experience in mineral exploration, geological research, and project and company management in different mining companies (Outokumpu Mining Oy, Polar Mining Oy, Store Norske Gull As, Northland Mines Oy and the Geological Survey of Finland).

Mr. Jokela joined Anglo American in the beginning of 2014. Since then he has been working as the Sakatti Project Manager and CEO of AA Sakatti Mining Oy. Mr. Jokela holds M.Sc. in Geology and Mineralogy, from the University of Turku, Finland."

"Kaj Lax is Head of the Mineral Resources Department at the Geological Survey of Sweden, SGU, Uppsala. He has a background in geochemistry, and as Head of the Mineral Information Office in Malå."

"Ph. D degree in planning geography at the University of Oulu. During 1989-1994 Mr. Keränen worked as a Regional Planner in the Regional Council of Kainuu; after that about 10 years in University of Oulu, Kajaani University Consortium as Project and Development manager; and after that 9 years as a Major of Hyrynsalmi municipality. Today, he holds position as a Regional Development Director with responsibility of regional development and programming."

"Holger Paulick is a professor in Economic Geology at the newly established Oulu Mining School (Finland). The Oulu Mining School aims to develop an integrated approach to education in applied geosciences and has been gathering experts from different fields of the mining industry's value chain.

Holger Paulick has a diverse background in research and mineral exploration which includes 6 years working as a senior exploration geologist on greenfield and brownfield Cu and Au projects in northern Sweden (New Boliden; 2008-2014). His scientific career started with a PhD project at the Centre for Ore Deposit Studies (CODES, University of Tasmania, Australia) concerned with geochemical target vectoring of volcanogenic massive sulphides. Since he is particularly interested in questions related to hydrothermal fluid-rock interaction and base metal mineralization he has investigated active "black smoker"-style sea floor massive sulphides based at Bergakademie Freiberg and Bonn University (Germany; 2000-2008). His most recent position was at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS; 2014-2015) where he was working on the characterisation of the Greenlandic mineral endowment (in particular REE, Au, and base metals) and European geoscience collaboration projects. He joined Oulu Mining School in summer 2015. "

"Tiina Rajala works as the development Director of the Council of the Oulu Region. She started in the post on 1.4.2014. Before She worked for five years as the Regional Director of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health Oulu office (2008-2014). Her areas of responsibility included for example matters related to the mining sector such as work Safety and Occupational health. She was doing coordination between experts and authorities in mining operativies. Mrs. Rajala has previously studied at the University of Vaasa, majoring in public law and administration."

"Civil engineer/B.A. in Russian language and culture. Mr. Turunen has worked in many kind of tasks of regional developing in the Regional Council of North Karelia. He has been the Regional Development Manager since 2004. Mr. Turunen is responsible for the development and monitoring of implementation of extractive and mining industry under the Northern Karelia's regional development programs."

"Pär Weihed is professor in ore geology and director of the Centre of Advanced Mining and Metallurgy (CAMM) at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. He is past president of the Society of Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA), the Geological Society of Sweden and the National committee for Geology under the auspices of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences. He is also an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. Weiheds research interest includes VMS, Orogenic gold and intrusive hosted Cu-Au deposits as well as regional metallogeny and tectonic evolution of the Fennoscandian Shield. He has published over 100 peer review papers on these subjects."
