FEM partner organization's international PDAC Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange is the world's leading convention for people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration and finance In addition to meeting over 1,000 exhibitors, 3,800 investors and 24,000 attendees from 130 countries, you can also attend technical sessions, short courses and networking events. FEM and PDAC Co-operation


FEM and PDAC have had fruitful co-operation since 2002 when a Memorandum of Understanding was first signed by Mr. John Steel, President of the PDAC and Mr. Esko Lotvonen, County Governor of Lapland, Regional Council of Lapland.

Signing of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding

The Memorandum of Understanding was renewed and signed at FEM 2009 by Mr. Jon Baird, President of the PDAC and Mr. Esko Lotvonen, County Governor of Lapland, Regional Council of Lapland.

The Embassy of Canada to Finland has been a long-time partner in this co-operation. The Embassy has organized a Canada Pavilion at the FEM Trade Show since 2005 together with the PDAC. Pavilion is targeted for Canadian companies interested or operating in the Fennoscandian Shield of Northern Europe.

Several people have contributed to this cooperation, such as Prof. Elias Ekdahl, Director General, Geological Survey of Finland, Mr. Ahti Silvennoinen, Regional Manager, Geological Survey of Finland, Prof. Pekka A. Nurmi, Geological Survey of Finland, and Mr. Jaakko Ylitalo, Councellor, Regional Council of Lapland.
